Technical Writing Experience

I have experience in clear, concise product documentation for a variety of formats. These include online written content, video content (scripting and storyboarding), whitepapers, and more.

Streamline Healthcare Solutions

May 2024 – Present

I currently work at Streamline Healthcare Solutions as an Associate Technical Writer. In this role, I create or update 10-15 user guides per month to document new enhancements to Streamline’s EHR product. I have led documentation efforts for large-scale projects, such as new modules in the EHR.

In addition to writing, I provide editorial reviews for user guide updates drafted by other team members. I have also assisted with project management for the team. Over the past year, I have been researching innovative ways we can use LLMs to improve team efficiency. I have tested these ideas and presented my findings to team leadership.

KnowBe4 Internship Project

August 2022

I worked as a Technical Content Intern at KnowBe4 during the summer of 2022. My internship project was to redo all of the documentation on the company’s Smart Groups feature within their training product. This required a full audit of all the existing Smart Groups content and a plan for how to re-organize, refresh, and expand upon the existing content in a user-friendly way. Then, I worked with multiple teams to gather information and write seven articles on this feature. I also wrote scripts and storyboards for videos that complement my Smart Group articles.

In addition to the organization updates and refreshed articles, I also expanded on many areas of the Smart Group documentation. For example, I wrote new content about gamifying security awareness training with Smart Groups. I also created editable worksheets so customers can easily plan custom Smart Group systems and accompanying campaigns. As a result of my project, the documentation on Smart Groups is clearer, easier to understand, and more informative. Users can now find the information they need in a more efficient way.

The Smart Groups tab on the KnowBe4 Knowledge Base is comprised of all of the written and video documentation I created in this project.

Kobie Review Encyclopedia

March 2020

This document is the result of an intensive research goal I completed during my marketing internship at Kobie Marketing. The goal of this project was to optimize the process of creating the Kobie Review, the company’s quarterly thought leadership publication. For this guide, I created documentation for Review processes, built a style guide for writing and design best practices, and explained our existing methods of production and distribution. These sections set clear expectations for all contributing writers, editors, marketers, and publication designers, which saves time in the production process. In addition to documenting our existing processes, I included ideas to optimize our production timeline and other key areas that needed improvement.

By clearly documenting our processes and communicating our guidelines to key stakeholders, we saw a four-week decrease in the average production time of the Kobie Review.
