This journal highlights exceptional undergraduate research produced in research- and inquiry-focused courses. As Editor in Chief of the journal, I reviewed faculty-nominated manuscripts for inclusion in the journal. I led a team of student copyeditors and was responsible for big-picture decisions, including changes and new additions to the style guide and layout choices. I also played an active role in the copyediting and design of each article.

In addition to supporting these operations, I planned and executed the first annual cover art contest for the journal. This entailed determining rules and a timeline for the contest, creating and disseminating marketing materials, and choosing the winners of the contest. This contest attracted over a dozen submissions and set up another avenue for student involvement in the production of Q.

Royal Road: A Journal of Undergraduate Research, Volume 7

This journal publishes outstanding undergraduate work produced in AWR 201, a composition course required for all University of Tampa students. Volume 7 of Royal Road included seven articles on topics ranging from health, to environmental issues, to film analyses. As Editor of this journal, I performed substantive and sentence-level copyediting and proofreading for every manuscript in the journal. I also worked in Adobe InDesign to lay out each article for print and digital formats.

Volume 7 was published in print and digitally in September 2023. The journal is available on the University of Tampa’s website.
